TAU LUMEN / OPTICAL MOCAP

Optical motion
capture system.

Cameras see retroreflective markers on people and objects. Software determines their 3D position — from site layout to usable output data.

SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Everything a working scene needs.

The exact kit depends on the working volume, objects and required result.

LUMEN

Cameras & IR illumination

Placement and geometry for the working volume.

LUMEN

Markers & suits

Passive retroreflective markers and mounts.

LUMEN

Network & synchronisation

PoE, processing nodes and cable routes.

LUMEN

Lumen Studio

Software within the scope of the supplied release.

MOCAP / ANIMATION & VIRTUAL PRODUCTION

Capture movement instead of fighting infrastructure

The system is calculated for the area, number of performers, occlusion and task. One project covers cameras, network, markers, software, calibration and operator training.

Value: a predictable preparation, recording and data-validation workflow rather than a standalone set of cameras.

EDUCATIONAL MOCAP STUDIO

A lesson, not a collection of hardware.

Target workflow: the instructor prepares a lesson, checks readiness, records movement and receives data for further work.

FAQ

Optical MOCAP FAQ

Is 249.1 fps the rate of ready 3D poses?+

No. It is a camera-node parameter at full resolution. The rate of finished 3D data depends on processing, configuration and system mode.

How many cameras does my site need?+

Room size alone is not enough. The estimate considers area, movement, number of people and objects, occlusion and purpose. The configurator gives a preliminary recommendation; an engineer confirms the final geometry.

How does Lumen compare with VICON, OptiTrack, NOKOV and Antilatency?+

Lumen is an optical marker system with a complete-cycle estimate: hardware, software, deployment, training and support. Compare not only cameras, but data fitness, workflow and the cost of an accepted result for your scene.

Does Lumen already work with TAU gloves?+

Integration is under development. Supported versions and the joint workflow will be published after validation.
